Jazz Corner News

Our guests at The Jazz Corner enjoy a fine dinner and good drinks. They are transported back in time to the jazz age by the atmosphere and great music played close to the melody, in the true style of the era. I learned that straight from my father, who led his own jazz band during the Roaring 1920's.

We also reach out to the community in performances and to the young musicians in schools and jazz camps through our Junior Jazz Foundation. If a promising young musician needs an instrument they get one, if they need music lessons, they get those too.
Around 1912, a poor skinny black kid was living in the Colored Waifs Home in New Orleans. Someone gave him a cornet and taught him how to play. The kid's name was Daniel Louis Armstrong and he became a giant in American jazz music. We want all young people to have an appreciation of their American jazz music birthright.

Whether you donate, buy a book or a memento of your visit, you are helping young people to gain an understanding and learn to play great live American jazz and you become a partner in our mission to preserve America's classic music.

Thank you for your continued support,
Bob Masteller

Click the link to get your copy of our new book recounting  the history of jazz. It is also our own Jazz Corner Story, with stories and photos of all our musicians past and present, and it includes recipes and photos of our great Southern cuisine. The musicians stepped up to support the Junior Jazz Foundation, too. The book contains two live cd's recorded at The Jazz Corner.
